DESCRIPTION of COURSES
Gambling is a complex phenomenon going beyond the boundaries between disciplines. The course is aimed at analysing some gambling features, different from the clynical ones so to enrich the professionals' understanding of the phenomenon, since the course had been specifically designed for them. More precisely, the course, in its extended version, focuses on the following features:
- technical and mathematical ones_ analysis of the public gambling rules; real life simulation and online scratchcard playing sessions, slot machines, videopokers, 10 and lotto, sports betting; analysis of gambling mathematics and the rewarding mechanism in several games;
- cognitive features_ analysing the most frequent conjunction fallacies when gambling and betting and Kahneman and Tversky's Prospect Theory;
- perceptive features_ analysing media as if they were tools to recognize and codify social understanding of gambling.
The course is specifically designed in consideration of the participants' needs and it may be devoted to professionals and workers from the National Health Care System, the third sector, banks, finance companies and insurances, first and second degree high school teachers, (high school or university) students, policy-makers and institutions.

(mathematician) and Diego Rizzuto
(physicist) created the information campaign on gambling mathematics Fate il Nostro Gioco™, within the scientific training company TAXI1729. This campaign, through conferences, labs, exhibitions and training courses has involved almost 100,000 people in Italy, France and Switzerland, so far.
is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Turin and Director of the Centro di Logica Linguaggio e Cognizione of the University of Turin. Besides dealing with classic topics such as epistemology and philosophy of science, took part in theoretical and experimental research projects on cognitive aspects of judjment and decision in uncertainty conditions and deepened the implications for diagnostic reasoning and errors in medical practice.
is a media educator, who designs training pathways, and deals with social-cultural research, methodological supervision, advisory on the use of media in the social and cultural sphere. For what regards gambling and, more generally, addictions, he is in charge of training programs regarding the use of visuals for training, teaching and pedagogical purposes, specifically designed for those working in the National Health Care System.
